Sonny, a native of eastern North Carolina, is president and co-partner of DKWA. He has more than 35 years experience in architecture. Having worked his way up from a draftsman to registered architect, he has experienced all aspects of the profession.

Sonny is a graduate of Southern Polytechnic State University, Marietta, Ga., with a bachelor's degree in Architectural Technology. He has been with DKWA for more than 25 years and a principal since 1992.

Richard is vice president and co-partner of DKWA. He earned his master's degree in architecture from North Carolina State University, and he has traveled globally studying and practicing the trade. With experience in architecture, commercial real estate, facilities management, historic preservation and finance, Richard joined DKWA in 1988.

Dedicated to finding new ways of serving our clients, Richard's current practice focuses on the development of alternative delivery systems, such as construction management at risk, creative financing and FasterBuildings.
